CCFC Academy & Travel soccer programs

Travel soccer at Circle City Futbol Club is a highly competitive program, which is geared toward producing long-term players of the game. In order to be considered for travel, players must attend a club-sanctioned try-out in which they will be evaluated based upon a set of predetermined criteria. Even though all players are invited to try-out, not all will be asked to join a team.

Once asked to join, playing time is not guaranteed and oftentimes could fluctuate based on a child’s performance from one week to the next. Being part of a team does not automatically lock in a spot for the player for next year. Instead, players will be required to try-out again every year in order to keep their spot.

  • Tryouts: June

  • Practices start: mid August

  • Fall ISL Games: beginning of Sep – first weekend of Nov

  • Spring ISL Games: mid Mar – end of May

Q: Who coaches the travel soccer teams?

Our volunteer coaches are not paid, but all are required to maintain at minimum a State Level E license and also bring with them a wealth of experience to the teams they lead.

Q: When are practices? How long are they?

Practice lengths vary depending on teams, but usually 2 practices per week for 1-1.5hrs each. And, depending on availability of fields and coaches for which nights practices will be held. Depending on the size of field needed, practices are held either behind Kitley Intermediate or at Franklin Central High School.

Q: How far do teams travel?

Our travel teams typically stay within the state of Indiana for play, and most often within Marion County. CCFC is registered with Indiana Soccer League (ISL) and teams play in different divisions based on their level of success in the previous season. Their divisions might require them to travel occasionally to play teams in other regions of the state, but it is rare. Most of our competition will be within the Indianapolis metropolitan area.

Q: What are the average costs for travel soccer?

$800 full year, $550 spring only (for HS athletes who are not eligible to play in the fall) + uniform costs. You will find our fees to be quite lower than most travel programs in our area. The fees cover our teams’ registrations with ISL, referees for games and tournament fees.

Academy (u8-u10)

CCFC Academy serves as a bridge between our Recreational and Travel programs. These teams have a fun and safe environment for the players to go deeper into the fundamentals and sharpen their skills in order to grow and develop as a complete soccer player. There is an emphasis on being competitive, but the primary focus is the development of our players.

Players will practice at least twice per week during season, and play games on Saturdays. They will play home matches at Edgewood Intermediate School and play away at other clubs around Indianapolis. There will be a couple tournaments the teams will play in throughout the year as well.

Travel (U11-U19)

CCFC's Travel teams play in a higher level of competition around the state of Indiana and regionally. This allows players to continue their development into a complete player towards high school, college, and beyond. At the Travel level, we continue to build on foundational individual skills while introducing more advanced concepts and tactics for team play within a family-friendly environment.

Our travel soccer program offers a competitive and enriching environment to help young athletes develop their skills, passion, and teamwork. At CCFC, we emphasize player growth both on and off the field through coaching, training, and regular participation in regional leagues and tournaments. Parents can expect clear communication, a focus on character-building, and a supportive community.
