Flanagan Family Named Finalist for Indiana Soccer Award
January 14, 2026 -- If you've even played soccer at Circle City FC, you know the Flanagan family. You may not know them personally, but you've certainly seen them on the fields, coaching, driving carts, working the concession stand, and everything else behind the scenes you can imagine to help make our club what it is. We are proud to announce they have been named a finalist for the Indiana Soccer 2026 Youth Volunteer of the Year.
For more than 15 years, the Flanagans have exemplified the very heart of CCFC’s mission: to provide a fun, safe, and healthy environment where soccer is truly for everyone, and where youth can grow mentally, emotionally, physically, and socially through the game.
The Flanagans’ journey with CCFC began when Mike and Mary’s daughters first laced up their cleats. From that moment on, the family became deeply involved in every aspect of the club. What started as volunteer coaching, team parenting, and game-day support quickly grew into an unwavering, long-term commitment to the success and well-being of CCFC and its players.

Mike and Mary have served the club in numerous capacities over the years, including holding multiple board positions. Today, Mike serves as CCFC’s Director of Recreation, while Mary leads Concessions—roles they fulfill with dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for the club community. Mike has consistently coached his daughters throughout their soccer careers, from Hailee’s final year of recreational soccer to Selena’s development as a student at Franklin College. His leadership extends beyond his own family, as he continues to support team formation, coach recruitment, and coach development, both on and off the field.
Mary’s impact is felt every game day. She runs a highly successful and welcoming concession operation, fostering strong relationships with high school volunteers and creating a positive, organized environment that enhances the game-day experience for families and players alike. Her commitment often means giving up entire weekends during both fall and spring seasons—time she willingly donates in service of the club.
Selena and Hailee, now young adults, have followed their parents’ example of service. Despite the demands of school, college, and work, both girls consistently return to CCFC to volunteer on game days. From assisting in concessions to supporting elderly spectators, helping with field access, and managing set-up and tear-down, they demonstrate a level of maturity, generosity, and community spirit well beyond their years. Hailee has also stepped into a leadership role as an assistant coach alongside her father, helping coach her cousin and continuing the family’s tradition of mentorship and positive influence.
To say the Flanagan family is instrumental to CCFC’s success is truly an understatement. In a time when volunteers are increasingly difficult to find, the Flanagans willingly dedicate entire weekends across multiple seasons, year after year. Their institutional knowledge, reliability, and passion for youth development are invaluable to the club and serve as a model for volunteerism within the soccer community.
As one club leader so perfectly stated: “Our club is better having a family such as the Flanagans. They inspire others and are the heartbeat of our soccer community.”
Winners will be announced at the annual Indiana Soccer Awards Gala on Saturday, February 28 at the Renaissance Hotel in Carmel. Congratulations again Mike, Mary, Selena, and Hailee for their hard work, passion, and love for CCFC.
