Meet The Board: Corey Trojanowski

Get to know our board members
We’re excited to kick off a new blog series, Get to Know Our Board, where we’ll shine a spotlight on the incredible volunteer board members who help keep Circle City FC moving forward.
These are the people working behind the scenes—giving their time, energy, and expertise—to support our players, families, and coaches and to help shape the future of our club. In each post, we’ll introduce you to one board member, share a bit about who they are, what they do, and why they’re passionate about Circle City FC, so you can get to know the faces and stories behind the club you’re a part of.
Our first blog post is on board member Corey Trojanowski.
q: What is your current board position and role at circle city fc?
I wear a lot of hats at CCFC. I currently serve as Secretary on the executive board. I'm also webmaster for the club website, which I redesigned last year, and run the social media for the club. I also serve as the club's Fundraising & Sponsorships Coordinator where I help generate additional revenue for the club. I'm also a volunteer assistant coach for my oldest son Deacon on the 2015 Boys Blue travel team and I also volunteer coach my youngest son Cohen in our rec program.
q: When did you join the ccfc board?
Spring 2024.
q: What inspired you to get involved with the club?
I wanted to be more involved where my kids spent the most time. I had been looking for ways to give back my free time and it just made sense to dive in here. They love soccer, and I was already a volunteer coach. So I took the next step and began lending a hand where I could to support the board.
q: What's the most rewarding part of serving on the board?
Honestly, it's the smiles from the kids. I do this because I know it brings joy to my boys, their friends, and so many other kids in our community. Those smiles on the weekends is what keeps me coming back.
q: What's one thing families might be surprised to learn about running a youth soccer club?
We are undermanned. We have numerous positions that are unfilled due to no volunteers. About half of our existing board will be leaving over the summer, leaving us with an even bigger gap to take on planning for the fall season. Fewer hands to help support and run the club may lead to changes in the future. We need family members to step up and take the both I took by giving whatever time they can to the soccer club their kids enjoy playing at each spring and fall.
q: Why do you believe community involvement and volunteer leadership matter in youth sports?
I have seen first hand just how vital community involvement means to CCFC. Having enough volunteers means we can help run golf cart rides to those needing a lift to the fields. Having enough volunteers means running a safe environment for our kids and young referees. Having enough volunteers means the difference between a enjoyable experience for club families or services and expectations not being able to be met. We need volunteers or the CCFC we all know and love will feel a lot different in the future. We're stretched thin as it is, and will only get thinner unless more people step forward.
q: What would you say to someone considering getting involved with the club?
That any commitment to volunteering goes a long way to helping our club succeed. We have numerous jobs and responsibilities that can fit any skillset. From more administrative behind the scenes type roles to being at the fields and helping game day operations be a success.
q: What is your favorite soccer memory?
Any game day coaching my boys!
q: What soccer club (other than ccfc) do you support?
PSV Eindhoven! Voor de kleuren, de club, en de stad!
